These pages describe the outline of an argument that proceeds from my own reasons for making it – through conceptions of reality, self and truth, to social, political and economic analysis of the extinction threats closing in upon us.

This is a scientific – athiestic argument that accounts for the occurence and role of the concept of God in human evolution – but refutes His existence. Boiled down to its essence, my argument is that the role God has played, a lingua franca of the social group and an ostensibly objective authority for hierarchy and law, should now be played by science. It’s a large and complex issue – I’m doing my best to present in simple terms, while at the same time making it known that such a contentious subject is in no way treated lightly.

It’s a difficult balance to strike, but I hope you’ll bear with me as I work on it. There’s a great deal more to be said about all these issues, as there other issues begging to be raised within the overall scheme of the argument, but the outline is valid. This is what we – the human species, need to deal with if we’re going to survive.
